The same vehicle three years old, with 40,000 miles, may be purchased for about $12,500.00. That’s $17,500.00 or about 60% less than the new vehicle. A three year old vehicle has hit maximum depreciation and is likely still in good condition. With proper maintenance this pre-owned vehicle can easily be driven another 100,000 miles with a very minimum of problems.
- Buy a three year old vehicle
- Have the vehicle inspected before buying
- Maintain the vehicle for lower cost
The trick is to find a vehicle that is in good condition to start with. This can be very confusing. Just looking for a certified vehicle is no assurance of quality. These can merely be a used vehicle with an extended warranty tacked onto the price.
Vehicle reports given without inspecting the vehicle can be very incomplete and quite risky. Such reports contain information purchased from insurance companies and warranty service providers. The problem is, a serious collision poorly repaired and not paid by insurance could go totally unreported. These reports also would likely lack information on any existing conditions that have not been repaired.
- The term certified is no assurance of anything
- Don't depend on electronic reports, with no inspection
A thorough physical inspection, performed by a professional is your best assurance. This pre-purchase inspection can detect a multitude of problems. The report issued by the inspector can also be used as bargaining leverage. This may often save many times the cost of the inspection.
AGCO has taken the pre-purchase inspection to a new level. We have developed a procedure we call predictive analysis. By combining fluid sample analysis, ultra sound inspection and vehicle measurement, many times we can predict problems even before symptoms can be noticed.
Pre-Purchase inspections, like all AGCO services, are priced based only for the time we actually spend on your vehicle. For example we may determine after ten-minutes that there is a major problem. This may be all the information that you need to make a decision. In this case that would be all you would pay for.
On another vehicle you may wish a total report. This could include not only present but likely future problems and pattern failures on the vehicle you are considering. With this information you can set up a maintenance schedule and budget future repair in a very cost effective manner.
Before you invest in a used vehicle, let us give it the once over. You will see why we say AGCO is the place to go.
AGCO pre-purchase reports are:
- Accurate and helpful
- Very cost effective
- As thorough as you need
